7-19-23 THOUGHTS
Good Morning for the first time in a while. Our visit with our children was priceless and leaves us filled with love and precious memories. Hopefully, with the Lord’s blessings we can return to some normal patterns. Our time together in God’s Word is important to me. As time together with my children and grandchildren has been a blessing, so is our time together in fellowship and encouragement. You and I are the family of God in this place. Pray for US! Let’s encourage ourselves in the Lord! May we seek a greater zeal and diligence, more aliveness and power in our love for one another and for God’s work. Can I make the passage area below work in my life? Can we make it work in OUR lives? The answer is YES! WILL WE? Willingness and desire are key! The WANTS! I expect that’s the key to eternity also? “And thou shalt love the lord thy God with ALL...” Deut 6:5 area
Eph 4:11-16 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. 14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; 15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.
Acts 11:22-24 The news about them reached the ears of the church at Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas off to Antioch. 23 Then when he arrived and witnessed the grace of God, he rejoiced and began to encourage them all with resolute heart to remain true to the Lord; 24 for he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And considerable numbers were brought to the Lord.
Php 3:12-16 Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you; 16 however, let us keep living by that same standard to which we have attained.
1Thes 5:11 “...encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.”
My Prayer:
Bind us together Lord in your love. Give us a vision of the Kingdom that is Your vision. Help us in our devotion to You and the Church You’ve placed us in. Help us to mortify selfish desires that keep us in tepid waters. Arouse our spirits and give us life from Yourself, O God. Help us to exchange in life and love and zeal for what is right and loved by You. May we walk in Your ways and not ours. In the name of our Savior, amen.
